We would like to thank you for taking on the admirable role of Team Captain. Through this respectable position, you have the incredible power to encourage your team members to meet and surpass their many goals…their fitness goals, their fundraising goals and one of the most important goals of all…belief in themselves. Throughout the months ahead, you will have incredible influence on a group of individuals who have dedicated themselves to a very worthy cause. So get out there and be the enthusiastic and inspirational leader you know you can be!
Months and weeks BEFORE the ride:- Recruit cyclists - You should meet with a local staff person from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, who will show you the national tools he/she has to assist you with recruiting and communication your team members. - Motivate, support and follow-up regularly with your cyclists.
- Assist team members in finding and participating in local training rides - The National Multiple Sclerosis Society and other locally established teams will help with this mission.
- Educate yourself and your team about the mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its programs.
- Assist the team with obtaining jerseys - Team Vitamin Shoppe jerseys are free to all team members.
AT the ride:- Take lots of digital pictures of the team in Team Vitamin Shoppe jerseys during training rides and especially on the day of the big event.
- Support your team members throughout the ride. This involves keeping everyone’s spirits high, although with the fun and celebratory feel of the day, this shouldn’t be too difficult! Should a team member need a hand, you should be there to assist. Remember that you will have a lot of help along the way. The tours are fully supported with frequent, well-stocked rest stops, mechanical support, and even people to give riders a lift if they need a break.

AFTER the ride:- Thank your team members for their hard work and dedication.
- Thank your contributors for their generosity.
- Monitor team members to see if everyone has turned in their pledges.
- Attend the post-event party.
